Mode

MATH QUIZ

WHAT IS THE MODE?

Learn it the easy way, then test yourself with this quiz!

What is the MODE?

The MODE is the number that appears the most times in a set of numbers. It is the easiest measure to find — just look for the number that shows up most often!

A set can have one mode, more than one mode (bimodal), or no mode at all (if every number appears only once).

Tip: You do NOT need to arrange the numbers in order to find the mode. Just count which number appears the most!

1

COUNT

Count how many times each number appears

2

PICK THE MOST

The number with the highest count is the MODE

Example 1: One Mode

Numbers: 4, 7, 4, 2, 7, 4

Count: 4 appears 3 times, 7 appears 2 times, 2 appears 1 time

The number that appears most is 4

So the MODE is 4!

Example 2: Two Modes (Bimodal)

Numbers: 3, 6, 3, 6, 9

Count: 3 appears 2 times, 6 appears 2 times, 9 appears 1 time

Both 3 and 6 appear the most (tied!)

So the MODES are 3 and 6 (Bimodal)!

Mean

MATH QUIZ WHAT IS THE MEAN ? Learn it the easy way, then test yourself with this quiz! What is the MEAN? The MEAN (also called average) is the simplest way to find the typical value of a group of numbers. Think of it as the "middle ground" when you add everything up and share it equally. 1 ADD THEM ALL Add every number together 2 DIVIDE BY COUNT Divide by how many numbers there are Example Numbers: 3, 5, 7 Step 1: 3 + 5 + 7 = 15 Step 2: 15 ÷ 3 = 5 So the MEAN is 5 ! Quiz Time! Read each question carefully before answering. You got this! PART 1 Multiple Choice 1 What is the formula for finding the MEAN? A Add all then multiply by the count B Add all then divide by the count C Subtract all then divide by the count D Multiply all then divide by the count 2 What is the MEAN of 3, 5, 7? A 3 B 7 C 5 D 15 3 What is the MEAN of 10, 20, 30? A 15 B 20 C 25 D 30 4 If the MEAN of 4 numbers is 6, what is the...

Algebraic Expression

MATH QUIZ ALGEBRAIC EXPRESSIONS Learn the parts and the difference from equations, then take the quiz! What is an Algebraic Expression? An Algebraic Expression is a math phrase made of numbers, letters, and operations (like +, -, ×, ÷). It does NOT have an equals sign (=). Example: 5x + 3 VARIABLE Variable A letter representing an unknown value (e.g., x, y) COEFFICIENT Coefficient The number multiplied by the variable (e.g., 5 in 5x) CONSTANT Constant A fixed number standing alone (e.g., 3 in 5x + 3) TERM Term Parts separated by + or - signs (e.g., 5x and 3) EXPRESSION 3x + 5 EQUATION 3x + 5 = 20 The equals sign (=) is the ONLY difference! An equation can be solved, an expression cannot. Let's Break It Down Expression: 4x² + 7x - 3 1st Term: 4x² → Coefficient is 4 , Variable is x 2nd Term: 7x → Coefficient is 7 , Variable is x 3rd Term: -3 → This is the Constant Total of 3 terms in this expres...
